Thursday night evangelism
It has been some time since I have had the joy of posting on the outreach ministry from Thursday nights. It is a joy being out with the team again after a long winter and spring away.
We began the night, Bob Wickland and I arriving at the ministry center at 6:30. Ken Dressler was there waiting for someone to show. As we entered I was joyously surprised to find a newer attendee of ours at Summit Harvest, Josh Tetzlaff, waiting for us. Josh had asked to join us from the 1st day I had met him. We talked a bit about Josh`s background which is absolutely fascinating and would encourage all in the body to take the time to meet him.
After a time of prayer we made our way downtown to the gazebo. I was looking forward to walking with Josh, as this was his 1st time out. We saw a group of three young men “hanging out” in the gazebo. I walked up into there and started a survey on them. How many animals did Moses take into the ark, etc. They were enjoying the brain teasers if you will and I took them up to, “is there a God?” “Will God punish sin?” To my good pleasure these boys, probably 15 to 16 years old were very engaging. I took them through the law and exposed to them there sin nature and the judgment imposed by the law on sin. One of the young men, Danny, was keenly aware of forgiveness. I agreed there is forgiveness, but that the forgiveness he spoke of was conditional. I explained to the guys that unless a man is born again, he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. They must repent and believe in Jesus. I gave them literature and they went on their way. I pray for them and their salvation. Ken was speaking to a man in the meantime who had a real hodge podge idea of a god and angels. Ken shared the truth of the gospel with him and we pray for the seed of the word to take root there.
We then walked around the lake to the park at Fowler where there was a ski show happening. We began to tract the whole place and get the gospel into the hands of the people of Oconomowoc. Most were very receptive to the taking of literature. I praise God for using us as we had a few other one to ones. We left the area at about 8:45. We prayed together and said goodnight. May God receive the glory due His name from His witness. Soli Deo Gloria
