All worship and honor and glory and praise to Christ Jesus whom we lift up and bear witness to.
It is heart warming to say the least, to enter the ministry center to find that there will be six men hitting the streets. That was the blessing of last evening. Our ministry was vitally enriched Thursday as the team consisted of Ken Dressler, Roger Phillips, Aaron Luebke, Ed Manchester, Bob Wickland and myself. We read and discussed scripture and prayed for a time and then hit the streets.
The decision was made to split into groups of 2, making 3 teams in all. We each took a quadrant of downtown Oconomowoc. Bob and I walked to Fowler Park which had been extremely populated the last couple of weeks, but no activity this evening. We stopped along the way and had a few short conversations with folks either walking or sitting by the lake. We handed out many tracts to park goers and spoke to a couple of ladies about eternity. The other groups had some interesting encounters. Roger and I spoke to a man who claimed to be a Christian and the exhorted him for about 20 minutes. They spoke very favorably of the mans disposition and his desire to get back into a church. They gave him information about Summit Harvest and blessed him before departing. Ken and Aaron had many conversations which is par for Kenny. His tenacity for speaking to folks is to be greatly admired. I didnt get a lot of info from him but trust the Lord use them in a mighty way.
It may sound, from the body of this text, as though it was a quiet and uneventful night, and perhaps it was, but the Lord was working in and through us and it is to be counted joy to be out in service of our Lord Jesus Christ. I am personally grateful for the men who came out and made themselves workers. Perhaps this night had as much to do with invigorating the saints as it did reaching the lost. Whatever the case, we thank God for pouring out his grace upon us. Soli Deo Gloria
