To all the saints at Summit Harvest and abroad, grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ to whom be the glory forever and ever, amen.
This Wednesday actually began for me in the realm of outreach earlier in the day. I had an amazing experience at work that I would like to share along with our evenings outreach. I will preface that by going back to last week Thursday. You see, I work for a company in which my employer is a Christian and a very compassionate man at that. He had made a decision some time ago to hire a young man by the name of Luke who was having many deep rooted struggles in his life. He came to work for us and was very endearing to Rob and I from the beginning for he was a very hard worker and also a radient personality. To make a long story short he fell into sin by way of heavy drug use maybe 2 weeks ago. It was a very difficult time for us as our hearts were deeply grieved by his undoing. However, word came back to us that he was determined to fight through this and was willing to do anything to come back. Rob and I agreed and set up a meeting to speak to him which led to last Thursday.
Upon meeting with him, we came into my office and sat down to talk. We explained many things to him but namely the saving and healing power of the Lord Jesus Christ. The conversation lasted for quite some time ending with us praying for him and hugs from Luke as he was filled with a peace from within (above). He returned to work and we were cautiously optimistic about his condition. The days went on and he seemed genuinely happy and relieved to be back amongst us all at work. Yesterday, upon passing him at his desk, I offered some words of encouragement to him as a walked by. This must have opened the door for him as he came back to my office and asked to talk to me. He shared were he was from medicinal stand point and how he was doing with that. He asked me how I had dealt with the coping through recovering from drug addiction, for I was a very heavy drug user before Christ saved me. I shared some of my testimony and led him into the spiritual again. I told him of the atoning work of Jesus Christ being a sufficient sacrifice to forgive the sins of those who would repent and believe. He asked how he could do that and I shared with him that salvation is of the Lord and that I was convinced that the Lord was drawing him. I took him to my car and gave him a New Testament and a Jim Eliff book for people with spiritual questions that is just a great book. I shared with him how I and those whom I call friends are compelled to share the good news of Jesus Christ with people due to our gratitude for being pulled from the fire and for our love of Jesus. I explained that we must be born again because of our spiritual state before God, how there was nothing redeemable in us. He asked, "You mean I go to God and do not hold on to any part of myself?" "Yes, exactly" I replied. It seemed to make sense to Him and he continued with questions like, "do I have to believe in the earth age to be saved?" I told him that he did not and within a short time he was called away to an appointment and gave me a huge smile and I am just convinced that God has him in His cross hairs. He agreed to meet me again to discuss the questions in the book I gave him. Be praying for him and let us rejoice in the God who saves.
Last night the team met at the Summit Harvest ministry center. We prayed together and hit the streets. It was dark but pleasent out this particular evening. We stopped down by Fowler Lake and the gazebo in the parking lot again. As we got out of the car we quickly realized that things were surely starting to die down there. We walked through the downtown area and ran across two guys leaving a bar. They were pleasant enough as Ken talked to them and gave them a book of John each. We then moved on, not seeing anyone and returned full circle back to the vehicle. A couple of trucks had parked where the people "hang out." We proceeded over there and walked into the small crowd and tracted them. I started to speak and realized that we had witnessed to this group before. One of the young men is friends with our pastors son. So we asked about what they had done with the information that has been shared with them many times before. Ken explained how they were responsible for their generation to know and understand the truth of Christ Jesus. It was a good conversation and some claimed to know Christ, however we agreed that there should be concern for all there spiritual conditions. That being said we walked away and prayed for them. The night really wound down and the lot was empty so we agreed to call it an evening. We love the fellowship of one another and all trust that God has us where he wants us in sharing even on the sparse nights. All glory goes to God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Saints, I pray you all find the joy in your salvation and in so doing find the hunger to reach out and share the gospel to your family, your friends or even complete strangers. I pray you all find the blessings and fulfillment in Him who has the words of life. I pray that you all have life and that you have it more abundantly and that the knowledge of our sovereign Lord would compell you to share your faith. All Glory and Honor and Praise to Him who came to save those who would believe. He who is my all and all shall receive the glory due his name.
Grace alone by faith alone in Christ alone through Scripture alone for the glory of God alone!
