Today, Kevin Ross and I decided to step out and go door to door in my neighborhood. The results were a bit mixed but fruitfull nonetheless.

We began on the 1st block by encountering an elderly woman who definatly wanted nothing to do with us and told us that she has her own faith and have a nice day. She was very short with us and then closed the door. We continued down that street with absolutely no success. There were many who just wouldnt come to the door. It was rather discouraging until eventually we saw a home with a john 3:16 sign in the front yard. We needed encouragement and hoped stopping here would provide it. Her name was Ellen and as it turned out she was very pleasant and encouraging. We thanked her for her time and moved on. The next house we came to was a gentleman named Brian who is a catholic. We asked him questions regarding his beliefs and then asked him if he believed he was a good person. He said that he thought that he was. We took him through the law of Christ and exposed his sin in light of the commandments. He stated to us that it made sense to him that he was in trouble if God were to judge him for his sin. He then recieved a phone call and had to go so we quickly explained the atonement on the cross and told him he must repent and put his trust in the savior. Pray that the gospels seed feel on good soil.

A couple of houses later we ran in to a gal named Rachel who occasionally attends Fox River Christian Church. We gave her the good person test and she to said that the gospel as we explained it made sense to her and that she needed a savior due to her sins against God. We gave her the grace of God and encouraged her to read her bible. I gave her psalm 51 as a reference to repentence to God. Pray also for Rachels salvation.

We got another cold reception from a guy hanging christmas lights and sadly enough he also had a fish outline on his bumper. We then on our way home came across Dick. He was a very elderly man who apparently has lived in the neighborhood 50 years. He was a very pleasant fellow who has battled cancer 3 times. We attributed his survival to Gods grace and he was very gracious. We gave him some tracts also and left after very pleasant conversation.

That wrapped up our day and we came back to my house. We prayed somemore and thanked God for allowing us to see his word penetrate. All glory be to God Amen!

Mike - Thanks for your faithfulness. The harvest is white, even in your part of town.
